Furthermore FlorCon has designed its products to eliminate high shipping costs, from impacting our clients. Having only to ship the top section of the product rather than the bulky and heavy complete joint system, this enables the saving of considerable shipping cost, import taxes and also reduces our environmental footprint.
The Top Section will be married to the in-country manufactured divider plate and plate dowel by the FlorCon licensee to provide the complete leave-in-place Joint system without all the transport and import costs of shipping a complete heavy joint system. Onsite installation and future maintenance requirements are also all part of the service FlorCon provides across the globe.
Omen 1 & Omen 1+ Top Section is formed from 3.0mm thick galvanised steel (or is available in stainless steel)
- Omen 1 top section is connected to an appropriate divider plate to provide a joint with many features and client benefits.
- Omen 1 Top Section is formed from one single section of steel with continuous ties to anchor the joint into the concrete along it’s length. It is strong, stiff and light. The section is fully tied into the concrete unlike a traditional joint with shear studs that are only secured to the concrete at given centres which creates a problem when a saw cut crosses the joint and the top section is no longer secured into the concrete.
- Omen 1 Top Section exhibits a sharp edge at the top rear edge of the joint to provide a trowelling edge, which has eclipsed the rear radius exhibited on other roll formed or press braked joints.
- Radius on impact edge – This provides a lead in to wheels travelling over the joint reducing impact damage and noise.
- Excellent strength at a fraction of the weight compared to other joint solutions.
- Omen 1 Top Section is available to other joint manufacturers for attachment to the joint manufacturers in-house produced Omen 1 divider plates.
- Omen 1+ has an inbuilt Impact Absorber insert which absorbs the impact of the truck wheel as it passes over the joint reducing impact on the concrete edge.

Top Section has all the features and benefits of Omen 1
It has an inbuilt bottom recess into which the special full length Insert Support plate is fitted. The Insert Support plate is designed to provide accurate level control across the top faces, load transfer and when the joint opens through shrinkage the Insert Support plate will provide full support to the joint sealant when it is installed or if over 10mm wide joint opening a special steel or Nylon Joint insert of the appropriate width is installed and screwed into the pre-drilled and M5 threaded holes in the Insert Support plate.
